Mrs Mason’s news.

Day 5

Good afternoon everyone,
The end of our first week of closure is almost upon us and it has been a pleasure to see the many activities you have been doing. I especially enjoyed all the practical tasks you have doing together- tying shoe laces and baking cakes.
In school today the chickens left us an egg extravaganza  ( see below) I think it was the lengthy discussion I had with them yesterday!
Have a lovely weekend and watch out for Monday’s news.

Day 4

Good afternoon everyone,

Thank you to the many children and parents who have been sharing their work with us, It has been lovely to see how creative you have been. I have added the Reading Challenge photos to the Learning Zone so please have a look.

In school today the children have made a beautiful Easter tree- see below this post. This is now sitting in our school hall.

When I was reading the newspaper this morning I spotted 2 good links to authors reading their books.

Day 3

Good afternoon everyone,

We have just uploaded your work for this week onto the class pages. There is also a message from your teachers. Please let me know if you spot anything which is not working properly.

Mrs Elsom wanted to say “thank- you” to the children who had been working on TTRS- please see the class page for your names.

In school today the children wrote letters to our longest serving volunteer. We haven’t been able to see her so we hope she enjoys reading these. We also planted carrot and runner bean seeds in our vegetable boxes. I hope the sunshine continues for a little longer.

Did you spot our bear? Children in Lynx class should read Miss Blagden’s update to find out what has been happening with Boris the Bear.

Speak to you all tomorrow.

P.S I enjoyed reading this.

Day 2

Good afternoon everyone,

What a beautiful day it has been! You may have seen the painted rainbows which have started appearing in windows. Lynx class made me one for my door before we left and it is now hanging proudly in place.

I have received a message and a photograph from a Year 1 pupil who tells me he has completed a phonic challenge- what a super star he is!

in school today the children went on a bug hunt and made bug hotels with Mrs Harrop – perhaps you could try this at home?

I have noticed that in my village teddy bears have started to appear so that local children can spot them from their gardens or when they are walking. Tomorrow look out for our Castle Bear- I wonder which window he will be in?

Take care

Mrs Mason

Day 1

Good morning everyone,

This is the first day of our new school arrangements and I would think you are all wondering, “how will this work?”  This is the first time I have led a school where I can’t physically speak to or see most of the children however this doesn’t stop us keeping in touch or being able to make our school a better place.

I will be regularly adding a post to the website and teachers will set weekly activities to your class pages. Please use the Castle email address for any queries or just to send us a message. These will get passed onto to me.

The children have asked questions such as- ” how much work should I do?” and “is it OK to play as well?” I think that the best way forward is to try and develop a routine. There are lots of examples of this all over the internet. I was reading this article this morning which might help.

In school today I plan to plant potatoes with the children who are attending, get right to the end of my inbox (for once) and venture into the school library for a tidy up.

I hope you all have a productive day.

Best wishes

Mrs Mason
