Spring 2 News Week 2 March 5th

Good morning everyone,

I hope you enjoyed World Book Day. Did you guess which member of staff was reading each book?

We love your alien sock puppet Sam.

Today is what I hope will be the last day of remote learning and as such will be a no screen day (apart from any well being check- ins and Celebration Assembly) Your teacher has planned lots of activities to keep you busy.

Please watch our welcome back to school assembly which includes safety reminders and our expectations on lining up and coming into school ready to learn.

Uniform Policy

When all children return we will be revisiting school expectations to make sure that we are setting the highest standards possible. This will start with our uniform. Please make sure your child is wearing their school uniform on Monday and remember that children should not be wearing nail polish or any jewellery other than a watch or small stud earrings which they must be able to remove themselves on PE days.

We do have various uniform available in school ready to purchase and take away.
If we do not hold the uniform you need in school you an now order from our new supplier here: https://myclothing.com/ueslink/6295.school

The uniform is:

  • red sweatshirt or cardigan (with or without the Castle Academy logo)
  • White polo shirt or white formal shirt
  • Grey formal trousers/shorts/skirt/grey pinafore/red gingham dress
  • Grey/white socks or black/red/grey tights
  • Formal black shoes/short boots or black trainers. No open toed sandals or ballet pumps.
  • Please  make sure everything has your child’s name in it.

PE uniform:

  • A plain white T-shirt or one with the Castle logo
  • Black or grey shorts/ jogging trousers
  • red sweatshirt or cardigan (with or without the Castle Academy logo)
  • Trainers
  • For safety reasons, cycle shorts and those made of Lycra are not permitted.
  • Children with longer hair should have hair tied up or bring a hair bobble that they can use.
  • Children should be able to remove their own jewellery.

If you are struggling with school uniform we do have spares in school. These can be loaned to the children (please note these are washed and stored for the appropriate time after use.) During the current Covid 19 pandemic  the windows will be open so if the weather is cooler then please consider sending your child with an extra layer of clothing. Children will not be wearing coats in classrooms. Hopefully the weather will  be kind to us in this respect.

Please keep reading our daily post as this is the place where we share our important information.

Thank you

I hope you have a good day and a relaxing weekend. See you all on Monday.
Mrs Mason

Guidance regarding testing of households, childcare and support bubbles of primary and secondary-age pupils

About 1 in 3 people with coronavirus do not have symptoms but can still pass it on to others. Regular testing of people without symptoms is important to help stop the virus spreading and protect your loved ones. As lockdown restrictions gradually ease we all need to play our part to help protect each other.

The following people in England will have access to regular rapid lateral flow testing made available to them as schools reopen:

  • secondary school pupils
  • primary and secondary school staff
  • households, childcare and support bubbles of primary and secondary-age pupils
  • households, childcare and support bubbles of primary and secondary staff

Primary school pupils will not be asked to test at this time. The guidance below explains  how you can order tests.
