Summer 2 News Week 3 April 28th

Good morning everyone,

Yesterday we experienced the first wet playtime in ages although it didn’t stop us going out for some fresh air. We also had a visitor in school, Mr Simpson who was visiting from another Astrea school. All classes have now planted their potatoes so hopefully more rain will follow. Year 2 have also planted peas and carrots.

We earned 10 Team Points for our independent writing.

I have been on gold 20 times- wow!

Dear children the Big Ask is now live at

This is the largest ever survey of children and young people in England. We will use what you tell us to show the government what you think, and what children need to live happier lives.

This survey will only take you 5-10 minutes.

Message from your school lottery –

It’s DIY season! This half-term we’re giving away not one but FIVE special prizes. Everyone who supports our lottery before 5th June is in with a chance of winning a £100 B&Q Gift Card.

Captain Tom 100 Challenge

Here is what we will do on Friday to raise money for the Captain Tom 100 Challenge. The children have voted to work together to kick 100 goals, run 100 times around the field and write 100 words. There is also the opportunity to think of their own ideas on the day. Please donate using our Justgiving page- thank you.

This week’s attendance is 95.1%.

Well done to Pumas class with an attendance figure of  99.6%

We had 3 classes who were on time all week- Lynx, Tigers and Leopards.

Don’t forget our Reading Challenge

Please encourage your child to read at home. Remember reading at least 4 x per week- 1 sticker on our reading challenge chart. Reading more than this = 2 stickers. When children earn enough stickers they can choose a reward from our School Council shop,

I hope you have a good day.
