Summer 1 News Week 4 May 6th

Good morning everyone,

Yesterday I met with our Curriculum Ambassadors to discuss our pupil curriculum survey. We hope that by asking the right questions we can find out what pupils like in the curriculum and what they would like to see being taught in school.

We planted some more fruit trees- thank you to James, Archie and Harley for their help and to Sydney for lending me her scissors to cut open the bags of compost.

I hope that you have or will take up the opportunity of a virtual parents meeting this week. This will really help us to have a team approach to working with your child.

Staff Car Park

I have noticed that we have an increasing number of parents using the staff car park to drop off children in the mornings. I do understand that the current staggered gate timings are challenging but the numbers of cars are now impacting on the safety of children and parents waiting to enter the school site. We have sent out reminders but to no avail so from today during school hours our car park gates will be closed.

Team Point Assembly- Who is in the lead?

We earned 10 Team Points- super maths work!

Don’t forget our Captain Tom 100 Challenge

Please donate using our Justgiving page- thank you.

Please fill out our curriculum survey.

There are some exciting curriculum developments happening over the next few months in Astrea. On Tuesday we sent you a parent survey asking for your view about the curriculum on offer at Castle Academy. If you would like to read your child’s class curriculum leaflet then please  click here.

Don’t forget our Reading Challenge- keep on reading

Please encourage your child to read at home. Remember reading at least 4 x per week- 1 sticker on our reading challenge chart. Reading more than this = 2 stickers. When children earn enough stickers they can choose a reward from our School Council shop,

I hope you have a good day.
