Today is ‘Festive Friday’ in school. The children have been very excited to celebrate the last day of term as they will be wearing non-uniform and having Christmas parties in classrooms. I think there will be some special deliveries happening too.

We have our elves, otherwise known as IT Technicians, to work on compressing our Christmas Performance videos and asked for them to be uploaded to each Class Page, so watch this space…

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and thank you all for your continued support.

Miss Blagden

Covid Guidance

We will continue to
Ventilate well- all doors and windows open.
Sanitise on arrival and between lessons and before lunch.
Clean well used areas more.
Isolate children with symptoms ( cleaning areas well when child has been picked up.) Ask parent to show negative test result before return.
Maintain as much distance as is possible in a school environment
Lateral flow tests will continue to be conducted twice weekly by all members of staff, with results reported to the school

Additional further measures in place from Monday November 1st until further notice.

  • In the event we have more than 1 positive case (confirmed PCR) in a group/class a letter will be sent to parents of those students identified as close contacts. This letter should recommend that a PCR test is undertaken for their child – Pupils can continue attendance whilst they await the test result, providing they do not develop symptoms
  • If the school becomes aware that a member of a pupil’s household has tested positive for COVID 19, the pupil should remain at home to self-isolate. If the child develops symptoms on day 1 or 2 then a PCR test should be undertaken immediately, if no symptoms are present then a PCR test should be undertaken between 3 – 5 days after the member of their household developed symptoms – if the test result is negative the child can return to school.
  • Parents are advised to wear face coverings when collecting or dropping off their child or when moving around a school site. If you are attending invited meetings or having conversations with office staff  a mask should be warn.
  • All non essential class mixing will be paused e. g after school clubs and enrichment. Breakfast club will continue as this is a needed service.
I will keep you informed of any changes. Hopefully with these temporary additional measures we can have a safe and enjoyable term.

 Our behaviour strategy.

Class Recognition Board-please click on image for a clearer view

Each classroom has a recognition board. All children will be aiming to have their photograph moved onto the board by the end of the school day. This recognises that all children have been following the school rules and have made the most of their learning time in school.

Class Charter-please click on image for a clearer view

Each class will agree a set of rules- the class charter.

Home school agreement- please click on image for a clearer view

We will be asking you and your child to sign a home school agreement so that we are all clear on how we are working together.

Castle class reward chart- please click on image for a clearer view

Each class will have a reward chart. At the beginning of each 1/2 term the children will discuss and choose the reward they are working towards. Children who display excellent behaviours for learning will earn a gold leaf to add to the chart, The children achieve the reward when the chart is full of golden leaves. We hope that this will further develop team working and responsibility.

Castle consequence steps- please click on image for a clearer view.

Each class will have a copy of our consequence steps. These clearly set out our strategies for managing negative behaviour. If your child reaches step 6 on more than 3 occasions we will be in touch to request a meeting with you so that we can work together to support your child to improve their behaviour.
