Spring 1 News Week 2 January 10th 2022

Good morning,

Firstly, I would like to thank our parents for their tremendous support and understanding at the terribly frustrating situation of being unable to open school to all children this morning due to having no heating in the main building. This is unfortunately out of our control. Also I would like to thank the amazing team of staff we have at Castle, who continued to work into the evening last night in order to adapt planning and ensure that lessons can go ahead remotely this morning, ensuring minimum disruption to pupil’s learning.

As Spain Class (FS2) have independent heating, we are able to continue to provide face to face teaching this morning.

For Year 1 to Year 6, we will be providing remote learning via TEAMs. Logins to the children’s accounts were sent out prior to the Christmas holiday. Please do get in touch with the school office if you are struggling to log in or access online lessons.

This morning’s schedule for Y1 to Y6 pupils:

  • 9.00am TEAMs registration (LIVE)– led by class teacher covering online safety rules and outline for the day and opportunity to check in.
  • 9.35am Assembly– will be posted on each class TEAM page using Nearpod or can be accessed at anytime by clicking on the following link: https://app.nearpod.com/?pin=3XAZF
  • 9.55am Screen Break– break time and opportunity to do something active away from the screen.
  • 10.15am TEAMs lesson (LIVE) led by class teacher followed by independent learning task.

Please follow the link to access TEAMS: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-teams/log-in

We are looking forward to seeing you all back in school at 12.45pm ready for an afternoon of face to face lessons.

We will continue to use the app to communicate with parents, however, you may also find it useful to also follow the Castle Academy Facebook page to keep up to date with school news:
